(TROY, MI – June 6, 2019) Emagine Entertainment, Inc., one of the nation’s leading innovators in motion picture exhibition, is pleased to announce its intention to build the largest CinemaScope screen in the Midwest at Emagine Canton, a venue that it first opened in 2004.  Measuring over 94 feet wide, Emagine’s  will be a spectacular theatre in which to enjoy Hollywood’s “tent pole” films.  The 4K laser-projected image will be paired with a Dolby Atmos® immersive sound system to create the most remarkable moviegoing experience in the marketplace today. The Grand Opening for the new  will feature Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker and will take place in December 2019 at Emagine Canton / Westland located at 39535 Ford Rd, Canton, Michigan 48187.

Doubling down on the resounding success it has enjoyed with its  screen in Novi, Michigan, Emagine’s leadership team is delighted to bring an even more awe-inspiring experience to Western Wayne County.  Commenting on the planned expansion, Paul Glantz, Chairman of Emagine Entertainment, noted “while some competitors are closing and others struggle to play catch-up, Emagine remains firmly committed to providing its guests with the finest moviegoing experience possible.  We are resolved to continually enhance the quality of the theatrical experience.  Nothing beats watching a blockbuster film on a 94 foot screen from the comfort of a heated reclining chair.”

Upon completion, the Canton / Westland venue will contain over 90,000 square feet under one roof, 20 screens, and span over two neighboring communities: the City of Westland and the Charter Township of Canton.  Concurrent with adding the premium large format  screen, the 14,000 square foot expansion also incorporates a new 24-seat screening room and accompanying party space.  Ideal for private event viewings and children’s birthday parties, the screening room has proven exceptionally well received at other Emagine venues.  Anthony LaVerde, CEO of Emagine Entertainment, Inc. notes “We have personalized the movie-going experience like never before with private screening room opportunities allowing guests the ability to control volume, sounds, lights and even pause or rewind films. With the addition of an even larger  in Southeast Michigan, our guests will enjoy a viewing experience like no other.”

Completion of the anticipated expansion Emagine Canton / Westland is predicated on obtaining the necessary entitlements from the City of Westland, Canton Township, and Wayne County.  With the addition of the two new screens at the Canton / Westland location, Emagine Entertainment, Inc.’s affiliates will operate 253 movie screens at 20 locations.  Since the 1989 founding of its predecessor, the Clarkston Cinema Corporation, Emagine has grown from one screen to its current multi-state footprint.
